Kolpinski, Patricia (Antigiovanni)
Patricia Ann (Antigiovanni) Kolpinski, born November 10, 1944, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family after a brave and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was blessed to have been able to have many meaningful visits and daily phone calls from loving family members and friends and many of her favorite foods brought to her in the weeks before she passed (gnocchi from the Venetian, lobster, fried clams, Mexican food, Italian cookies, zeppole, Italian fruit cake, Diana's pasta fagioli, homemade banana bread, Munson's turtles, and Mrs. Rosati's pizza to name a few). Full of courage and determination, and refusing all pain killers, she lived life to the fullest and made the most of the short time given to her in the weeks leading up to her death. She was the daughter of the late
John and Linda Antigiovanni and the wife of the late Richard J. Kolpinski Sr. She grew up in Farmington, CT and graduated from Farmington High School in 1962. She attended Central Connecticut State University and
was employed by Underwood Typewriter Company and Connecticut General before devoting herself full time to the raising of her children.
Patti is survived by her children Richard J. Kolpinski of Olympia, WA, Michael J. Kolpinski of Seymour, CT and Laurie Kolpinski Stein and her husband Michael Stein of New Hope, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Richard J. Kolpinski III, Alexa Kolpinski, Angela Kolpinski, Alanna Kolpinski, Jacob Stein and Benjamin Stein. She also leaves behind her great uncles Bassie Antigiovanni and Fred Moffatt, brothers John Antigiovanni Jr., Gary Antigiovanni, Donald Antigiovanni, Peter Antigiovanni and her sisters, Linda Kempczynski and Laura Kulas, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Over the years she was actively involved as a room mother at Bakerville elementary school, the PTO at Ann Antolini elementary school, Cub Scout Den Mother, and helped her husband run New Hartford Youth Baseball over many years. Patti loved traveling, especially to Prince Edward Island and she was a big fan of Caribbean cruises. One of her great joys was going out for dinner (she loved to get dressed up) and taking weekend trips to Vermont with her son Michael. She was a politics junkie, an avid reader, a Facebook aficionado, a Jersey Boys enthusiast and a collector of coffee mugs and magnets from her travels. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed. We are grateful to the Home Hospice team at Hartford Healthcare for the compassion, support and excellent care they provided. Family and friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Rt. 4, Unionville on Wednesday (Sept. 15) from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Thursday (Sept. 16) at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Patrick, Farmington at 9:30 a.m. Burial
