Stop coverage of anti-maskers

The purpose of the masks that most of us use is not to protect us, but to protect people around us. If everyone wears a mask, we can limit the spread of the virus. This is particularly important when considering children who are too young to be vaccinated. That is why masking everybody during the pandemic is good public health policy to inhibit the spread.

Where do the mothers who are protesting masking their children get the right to endanger other people’s children? The image on TV of mothers screaming obscenities at the governor while holding their children’s hand reminds me of a TV image from 60 odd years ago of another group of similar-sounding mothers who thought the right thing to do was to spit on other people’s children to discourage them from integrating schools. Why does the lunatic fringe get so much coverage by the press?
