-

Charles "Chip" Brunton Kime, MD, formerly of Farmington, CT, passed away on September 4, 2021 at the age of 59, at his home in Vonore, Tennessee.

Chip was born on March 11, 1962, in Yonkers, NY, to parents Richard Charles Kime and Barbara Brunton. He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, and went on to complete medical school & his residency at the University of Connecticut. He practiced as an orthopedic surgeon, sub-specializing in spinal surgery, until his retirement in 2018.

Chip was an avid reader and loved his crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed spending time on his boat, fishing, and hunting, and he loved his afternoon "mo". He cherished holidays with family, and always wanted to be the one to open the very last Christmas present. He

had two pets that he cared very much for (whether or not he'd always admit it), "Diesel" the dog & "Bentley" the cat. Chip adored his wife and children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Macey Kime of Vonore, TN.

He leaves behind four children: his daughter, Samantha Jo Kime and significant other Randy Gruener (Avon, CT); his son, Harrison R. Kime (Farmington, CT); his step-son, Bryan M. Mitchell and significant other Molly Walker (Plano, TX); and his step-daughter, Brittney N. Mitchell and husband Henry J. Mitchell (Madisonville, TN). He also leaves behind two grand-daughters, Haisley and

Hensley Mitchell (Madisonville, TN), and his first grandson, Calihan Mitchell, is due October 2021.

He is also survived by his two sisters, Candice Flormann

& husband Ron Flormann, Jr. (Denver, NC), and Kimberly Ruggiero & husband Augustine Ruggiero (Shelton, CT);

niece Alexandra Flormann Ziller & husband Sean Ziller; niece Victoria Flormann; nephew William Flormann; nephew Dan Ruggiero; and niece Brittany Ruggiero & husband Tim Kearns.

Chip was well-loved by family, friends, and patients alike, and will be remembered always for his caring, giving nature, as well as for his razor-sharp wit. We love you always.

Celebration of life service will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Foundation of America.
