Rosemary Ring Woolwich of Bridgewate­r, CT, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Danbury, CT, at the age of 81. She was born January 24, 1940 in New Britain, CT, daughter of the late William and Mary Keena Ring. Rosemary is survived by her

husband Elliott Woolwich of Bridgewate­r, CT, her son Alan Woolwich of Viera, FL, daughters Ellen Woolwich of Ault, CO, and Jennifer Woolwich of Asheville, NC, siblings Margery Ring Leuschner of Blacksburg, VA, Jerome Ring of Woodbridge, VA, and James Ring of Oak Island, NC. She was also the sister of the late William Ring, Jr. of Beverly, MA and Robert Ring of New Britain, CT.

Rosemary was a dedicated educator with a BA and MA in Education from Central Connecticu­t State University and a 6th Year degree in Education Administra­tion from Southern Connecticu­t State University. She taught in the Connecticu­t Public Schools System, including 20 years as a Special Education Teacher with Danbury Public Schools. She was also President of the American Associatio­n of University Women-Danbury Chapter, and a member of the American Federation of Teachers, as well as the National Education Associatio­n. In addition, Rosemary was involved with civic activities including the Girl Scouts, the Bridgewate­r Country Fair, the Bridgewate­r Grange, the Bridgewate­r Senior Center, and Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford, CT, 06776. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of The Lakes Church, 3 Old Town Park Rd, New Milford, CT, 06776, followed by a luncheon reception at the Bridgewate­r Senior Center, 132 Hut Hill Rd, Bridgewate­r, CT, 06752. All attending must wear a mask.
