Giacomo “Jack” Bellantuon­o, 89, of Bristol, passed away at home on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born on June 27, 1932 in New Britain, son of the

late Giovanni and Giovannina (D'Agata) Bellantuon­o. Jack was the loving husband of Michelina (Mariano) Bellantuon­o for 65 years. They were meant to be together, born a day apart in 1932. Jack was raised in New Britain, and at 18 years old served in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army's 9th Infantry Regiment. He saw combat and received several medals and citations for his actions. He spent his postwar career at General Electric in Plainville. Following his retirement, Jack enjoyed his remaining years surrounded by his tight-knit family, who were never far. He treasured all his grandchild­ren, weekly family dinners, woodworkin­g, and gardening. Besides his wife, Michelina, Jack is survived by his sons John Bellantuon­o and his wife Carolyn of Bristol, Paul Bellantuon­o and

his wife Kristen of Bristol, Michael Bellantuon­o and his wife Hope of Bristol; daughters Joan Pelkey and her husband Peter of Bristol, Diane Ragali and her husband Timothy of Southingto­n, Patricia Siemiatkos­ki of Bristol; grandchild­ren Anthony, Christophe­r, Gia, Andrew, Daniel, Jenna, Jack, Joshua, Ava, Kaylee; great-grandchild­ren Juliana, Parker, Kobe; sister Josephine Lanza

of Hebron and several nieces and nephews. He is predecease­d by his siblings Lucy, Vincent, Anthony and Marie. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all of Jack's caregivers—including Godfreed, Andre, Heather, and Michael—who gave him comfort and compassion in his final days. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021from 6PM until 8PM at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol. A funeral

will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 starting at the funeral home at 9AM until a procession to St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol for a Mass of Christan Burial at 10AM.
