Derench, Margaret M. (Beaupre)
Margaret M. (Beaupre) Derench, of Windsor, born August 20, 1923, died peacefully on September 5, 2021. She recently celebrated her 98th birthday with her four children. Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to the U.S. as an infant. She and her family lived in Hartford, where she graduated from Bulkeley High School. Margaret leaves behind her four children: Bruce Beaupre (Donna) of Westwood, MA; Gene Beaupre of South Windsor; Anne Beaupre Mellas (Steve) of Honey Brook, PA and Susan Beaupre Tomasik (Tom) of Brewster, MA. As well, she leaves behind six grandchildren: Brian Beaupre (Meghan) of Milton, MA; Tara Kearney (Brian) of Westwood, MA; Ted Mellas (Jennifer)
of Sahuarita, AZ; Daniel Tomasik, Christina Tomasik and Anna Tomasik of Brewster, MA; five great grandchildren and her two beloved nieces: Catherine Stewart Bryant of East Hartford and Laurie Mulholland Chaisson of Portland, ME.
Margaret was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph E. Beaupre, Jr. (1976); her second husband, Stanley J. Derench (2011); her three brothers: John, Thomas and William Mulholland as well as her sister, Catherine Stewart. Throughout her life, Margaret enjoyed travel
within the U.S. and dancing. She was an avid reader, knitter and bowler, well into her 80's. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and liked many genres of music, especially Big Band Era and Country. Margaret loved spending time on Cape Cod at the homes of her daughters, enjoying extended visits and holidays with her children and grandchildren.
Recently, for the past several years, Margaret was a daily attendee at the Windsor Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends. Her favorite card game was "set back", which she taught to her children and grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be shared with her family on Cape Cod.
