Chuchro’s 3 TDs lead Northwest Catholic past Bethel

Matt Chuchro tossed three touchdowns to lead Northwest Catholic to a 33-25 nonconference win over visiting Bethel in West Hartford.

Chuchro was 14-for22 for 219 yards and also rushed for 60 yards. Luke Rice caught a TD and had a 97-yard interception return for a TD. Brady Brennan caught four passes for 149 yards and a score and had five tackles and Kyle Pickering rushed for a TD and added five tackles and an interception.

Friday’s late games

East Catholic 27, Montville 26 (OT): A 10-yard touchdown run from Jack O’Conner and an Ethan Rainha extra point kick gave East Catholic a nonconference overtime home win over Montville. Matt Zazzaro tossed three TDs for the Eagles (1-2), including one to Aiden Mateo to tie the game.

East Hartford 31, Glastonbury 28: The Hornets (2-1) topped the Guardians (0-3) in a CCC Tier 1 road game behind two kickoff return touchdowns from Kameron Massey and Nate Evans. Massey caught a TD from Darrion Williams, who also had a rushing TD. Evans ran for a score.

Berlin 48, Manchester 7: Lorenzo Miele scored three TDs to lead the Redcoats (2-1) to a CCC Tier 2 road win over Manchester (0-3). Miele passed for two scores and rushed for a third. Jamie Palmese added 123 yards and two TDs rushing.

Stafford co-op 39, Coventry co-op 8: Mark

McLaughlin accounted for four TDs as the Bulldogs (2-1) topped the Coventry co-op in a Pequot Uncas home game. McLaughlin rushed for 106 yards and 3 TDs with a fourth score through the air and Logan Briggs had a rushing and receiving TD.

Rockville 42, Gilbert co-op 12: De’Shaun Perry scored five touchdowns to lead Rockville (1-1) to a Pequot Uncas home win over Gilbert (0-2). Perry rushed for 223 yards and 4 scores and caught a fifth TD. Amir Knighton had 10 tackles, 2 sack, 2 forced fumbles for Rockville.

West Haven 20, Middletown 16: Despite 280 yards passing and a TD from Colin Skene, the Blue Dragons (0-3) fell on the road to West Haven (2-1) in an nonconference game.

Killingly 54, Lewis Mills 8:

Killingly (3-0) rushed for eight touchdowns to top Lewis Mills (1-2) in nonconference play. Jack Stanislaw tossed a TD to Colby Cables for the lone Mills score.

Cheshire 42, Staples 14:

Christian Russo rushed for 245 yards, two touchdowns as Cheshire (3-0) topped Staples (1-2) in a nonconference home game. Connor Moran added two TDs and Evan Russo had five sacks, four tackles and two forced fumbles for the Rams’ defense.

New Fairfield 14, Sheehan 13: Paul Forry threw two TD passes but Sheehan (1-1) feel to New Fairfield (3-0) in a nonconference road game. Justin McCormack ran and passed for a touchdown for New Fairfield.

Fairfield Prep 28, Conard 0: Connor Smith tossed two scores as Fairfield Prep (3-0) shut out Conard (1-2) on the road.
