Hazen, Ronald Preston

-

Ronald Preston Hazen, 42, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Robert and Karen Hazen. He also leaves behind his brother, Robert Hazen and his wife Dessie; his sister, Stacey Bosco and her husband Shawn; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Mykaila, Jacob and Morgan Bosco, and Robert III and Ryan Hazen.

Ron enjoyed his youth like no other, whether he was busy fishing, camping, or playing sports. Those that knew Ron knew that no matter what he was doing, he enjoyed it most when he was surrounded by those he loved, his family and friends. He often had a heartwarming story to tell, or a fond memory to share from the “good ole days.” Ron could light up a room with his smile. He always found a way to connect with others,

and he had a knack for lifting people up.

A graduate of the Granby Memorial High School Class of 1997, Ron went on to Porter and Chester Institute to develop his interest in computers. He spent a number of years working as an IT professional, including with the Travelers Insurance in Hartford, CT, where he rose to the level of a senior technician. More recently, he worked with the family business alongside his father. No matter where life took him, Ron had a gift for quickly mastering new challenges, taking care in his work and always finding a way to leave his mark. He would see things in a way that others could not, something for which he was greatly admired.

Ron was a very giving person and did not have a mean bone in his body. He had many close friends, most notably his longtime canine comrade Stoopy. Ron will be deeply missed for his kind heart and his generous spirit. Through all his trials and struggles, he always had all of our love.

Ron, when you left, you took a piece of all of us with you, but rest assured we will meet again. With all our love, your family.

Services were privately held for the family. For anyone wishing to act beyond welcomed thoughts and prayers, a donation in Ron's name to the Connecticut Human Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111 or to a local animal rescue organization is suggested. HayesHuling & Carmon Funeral Home, Granby has care of the arrangements. For online condolences please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
