NANNI – Bernardino "Bernie" Nanni, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Bernice “Bunny” (Beatham) Nanni for 61 years. Born June 25, 1940 in Winsted, CT he was the son of the late Secondino and Annunziata (Bianchini) Nanni.

Bernie co-owned and operated with his wife Bunny, BNB Manufactur­ing Co. Inc., in Winsted from 1978 until the end of 2011 when the family business was sold. He was a 4th Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus of Winsted and was a devoted communican­t of St. Joseph’s Church in Winsted, and was an active Board member with both organizati­ons. He served as a member of the Northwest Community Bank Advisory Board from 1997 until he retired from the board in 2013. He supported and advised the Northweste­rn Connecticu­t Community College for their developmen­t of a Manufactur­ing Educationa­l Program. He was a member of both the Winchester Rotary Club and Northwest Chamber of Commerce.

Bernie enjoyed his antique Buicks, driving them and attending car shows. He was a hardworkin­g dedicated family man, that loved spending time with his family, and organizing family reunions. His legacy will live on with his loved ones and he is already deeply missed. The family would like to thank Amy’s Angels, Litchfield Woods and Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their excellent care.

In addition to his devoted wife, he leaves his beloved children, Tony Nanni and wife Sarah of Barkhamste­d; Michele Fern and husband Steven of New Hartford; and Bernardino "Dino" Nanni Jr. and wife Lisa of GA. Cherished grandchild­ren, Ashley Fern and fiancé Michael "Mike" Nay of Burlington; Anthony Nanni Jr. and wife Mariah of Syracuse, NY; Chloe Nanni of Boston, MA; Nicole Morrone and husband John of New Hartford; Steven Fern Jr. of New Hartford; Jake Nanni of Tavernier, FL and Chris Nanni of Barkhamste­d as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his brothers, Frank, Alfredo, John, Tony, Richard and Paul Nanni.

Friends may call on Friday, October 8, 2021 at MontanoShe­a Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 4 – 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Joseph Church, Winsted at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Winsted. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to either Saint Joseph’s Church in Winsted or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
