Dinah R. Raimondo, 97, of Newington, passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of F. Philip Raimondo. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late John and Jenny (Marchese) Valenti, she was a longtime resident of Newington. Dinah was married to her husband for 72 years before he passed in 2014. She was active in her church, singing in the choir. She loved music and playing piano. She was an excellent cook, loved flowers, gardening, butterflie­s and birds. Above all, she loved being a mom and grandmothe­r. She leaves her two daughters, Deborah Raimondo and Dana Havens and her husband Garrett, both of Newington, and her two grandchild­ren, Philip John Havens and Victoria Elizabeth Havens. She also leaves her sister Priscilla Dobrowski of Plainville and several nieces, nephews, grandniece­s and grandnephe­ws. She was predecease­d by her brother Phineas Valenti and his wife Rebecca Valenti, her sister Lois Adorno and her husband Donald, and her brother-in-law, Edward Dobrowski. Her family would like to give a special thanks to all her aides and her hospice team who, like all who entered her home, became family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 7th, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband following the service in West Meadow Cemetery.
