December 5, 1943-September 19, 2021

On September 19, Lou Favreau completed his life's journey, with his close family around him, and a bright harvest moon rising outside his window. He died after a valiant, tenmonth struggle with multiple myeloma.

Born in Hartford, Conn., the first child of Louis and Carmel (née Salvucci) Favreau, Lou attended Suffield High School, and graduated from the University of Connecticut. After that, he lived a fantastically peripatetic life on the West Coast. He entered deeply into every endeavor he chose with his signature caring, kindness, and excellent humor—whether it was securing $10 million in grant funding for public charter schools; being a member of Actor's Equity and Screen Actors Guild; or winning multiple medals playing the great (and regrettably little known) game of pétanque.

However, first and foremost, Lou was a friend, brother, husband, father, and Pop Pop. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Mary-Kate Mackey; his son Jacques and daughter-in-law Hanh Pham, along with their two children, Eloise

and Noah; and his daughter Annie Rose and son-in-law John Ulman; his sister, Maureen Stott, and brother, Doug Favreau; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. His brother, Richard Favreau, predeceased him.

If you wish to remember Lou, please donate to an organization that brings love, justice, or art into the world.
