James Riley, 98, of Hartford, CT peacefully passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at his home. He was born in Brownstown, Jamaica to the late James and Dorcas Riley, also of Jamaica. James moved to Hartford, CT in 1942 where he would eventually meet the love of his life Beatrice and create his beautiful family they raised together in

Hartford, CT.

James was predeceased by his beloved wife Beatrice Rhodes Riley; parents, James C. Riley and Dorcas Riley; siblings, Leslie and Clifford Riley. James leaves to cherish his memories his three daughters, Idella Fredrick of Hartford, Keona (Riley) Hemingway of Manchester and Latoya Riley of Hartford; his four loving grandchildren, Harmoni Parkman, Michael Asberry, Jr., Alexander

Wiggins, Jr., and Kiore Calbert; sister, Edna Robinson; brother, Kenneth Riley; supportive nephew, Horace (Delroy) Robinson; bonus daughter, Amanda Knighton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of his life will be held at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service, 94 Granby Street, Bloomfield, CT 06002 on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00AM; with Visitation from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will be at Mtn. View Cemetery, 30 Mountain Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Repast will be at the American Legion, 2121 Main St., Hartford, CT at 2pm.
