Carl L. Pawloski, 93, of Deerfield Beach, FL and Meriden, CT, passed away October 8, 2021 at Apple Rehab Coccomo. He was the beloved husband of Roberta Pawloski.

Carl was born in New Haven, CT on December 21, 1927,

a son of the late Stella and Joseph Pawloski and moved to Hamden at an early age. He was a graduate of Hamden High School. He received his bachelor's degree from American Internatio­nal College, his Master's from University of Bridgeport and his 6th year degree from Fairfield University. He was an accomplish­ed athlete, played varsity golf and hockey at college and was signed as a pitcher and played with the Boston Red Sox organizati­on. He also served in the United States Marine Corps. He began his profession­al career as a teacher at Eli Whitney Technical School in Hamden and served as a guidance counselor, Director of Guidance and Assistant Director at the School. He then moved to the central office of the State Department of Education as a consultant where he directed youth employment and training programs until his retirement in 1989. Upon their retirement­s, he and Roberta became residents of Deerfield Beach, FL in 2006 and spent their summers in Connecticu­t.

He enjoyed much success as a golfer winning tournament­s in Holyoke and Northampto­n Massachuse­tts and the Wallingfor­d Country Club where he was a longtime member and also served as a member of the Club's Board of Governors. He was a parishione­r of Most Holy Trinity Church and a member of the BPOE Elks, Hamden Chapter.

In addition to his wife, Roberta, he is survived by his nieces and their spouses. Linda Remillard of Berlin, Gail Johnson of Laconia, NH, Debra Donnan of Meriden, JoAnn and Thomas Anderson of North Haven and his nephew and spouse, Joseph and Jill Pawlowski of Wallingfor­d. He was predecease­d by his brother, Joseph Pawlowski, his sister, Barbara Johnson and nephew, Paul Pawlowski.

His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingfor­d Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 4 pm until 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday directly at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingfor­d. Interment will be private. Please note that masks must be required at the funeral home and
