Geraldine (Shea) Stifano of Wethersfie­ld, loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmothe­r, died on October 6, 2021. Born in Hartford, she was the youngest daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (O'Leary) Shea. Gerry attended Our Lady of Sorrows School and graduated from Hartford Public High School. She worked for the Connecticu­t Labor Department and the VA Hospital in Newington. Gerry had the gift of gab. She enjoyed reminiscin­g and sharing tales about her Irish heritage. She was a great entertaine­r, inviting family and friends to delicious home cooked dinners and afternoon teas. She loved reading, writing, cooking, baking, listening to music, singing and dancing with the love of her life, her husband Vince. Together they worked side by side and built their family beach house in RI where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She leaves her sons Vincent A. Stifano III and his wife Joy of Middletown, Michael S. Stifano of San Diego, and her daughter Gena (Stifano) Perodeau and husband Rene of Middletown. Gerry is also survived by her loved and cherished grandchild­ren Jill K. Stifano and fiancé Anthony John Mastrocola of Everett, MA and Vincent A. Stifano IV of Middletown, as well as her brother-in-law James McGinn of Lexington, MA and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves many close longtime friends. Besides her husband of 60 years, Vincent A. Stifano Jr., Gerry was predecease­d by her sisters Margaret (Shea) Nelson, Julia (Shea) Lyons, Veronica (Shea) Creed and her brother, the Honorable David M. Shea.

Gerry's family extends heartfelt thanks to all her caregivers, especially Elza, Nnenna, Maureen, Jennifer and Roosinthia.

Calling hours are Wednesday October 20, 2021 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfie­ld, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Pius X Church. 310 Westfield Street, Middletown. Masks are required for visitation and suggested for the Mass. Burial will be in the Connecticu­t State Veteran's Cemetery, 317 Bow
