End intolerant treatment of the unvaccinated

-

In regard to letters commenting on the non-vaccinated, it continues to fascinate that those expounding on tolerance and inclusivity are so quick to condemn those with a noncompliant worldview. And how easily they attribute the basest of motivations, such as lack of caring or selfishness, to those who don’t see things their way.

Perhaps the individual had a prior infection and thus the presence of antibodies. Or perhaps they are a sole provider, paycheck to paycheck, and are afraid of missing work due to a bad reaction. Maybe the inconsistent and self-contradictory guidance from CDC and elected leaders, and the increasingly political undertones, have given them pause. It is possible to be pro-vaccine (I’m fully vaccinated) and to question the role and logic of vaccination mandates. I was taught in logic class to look hard when someone tells me “it’s for my own good,” and to look twice when it’s someone from the government.
