Wright, Robert E

Robert Edward Wright, 85 died suddenly January 13 while visiting family in MI. He was born March 18, 1936 to Daniel and Elizabeth (Franemberg) in Brooklyn, NY.

He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Wright. Robert was employed for many years as a pharmacy technician for Arrow Pharmacy in St. Francis Hospital. He also worked at the Jordan Lane Stop and Shop until his retirement. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, watching sports, cruises, traveling to visit family, the many dogs he and his wife raised, and going to the casino. His 78 inch height resulted in the nickname “Big Bob”. Despite many health issues he was upbeat and was making plans to finish his “bucket list”. He was happy to be visiting his son in MI and enjoyed a trip to the casino the day before he passed away.

His memory will be cherished by his children: Robert

Jr. and Sophie of MI and their children Robert III, Christopher and Nicholas; Robin Easter of VA; and Scott Wright of FL. He will be greatly missed by Patricia's children Deborah Katten of Berlin and Raymond (Susan)

Manzi of West Hartford to whom he was a loving stepfather and friend. He also leaves grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan, his brother Daniel, and a son in law Alan Katten.

His family greatly appreciates the outstanding care he received from his team of physicians, Dr.'s Kathleen Kennedy, John Pappandrea, Tapas Bandyopadhyay and Sudhanshu Mulay and the St. Francis hematology/oncology team. With their treatments we enjoyed many extra years with Bob.

Due to the pandemic funeral services will be private. His remains will be placed with Patricia in the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Those wishing to honor his memory may consider donating blood to the American Red Cross which supplied him with years of life saving treatments or the Smilow Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital.
