Russo, Thomas

-

Thomas (Tommy) Russo passed away on Sunday, September 18th. This sudden

and tragic loss touches all of us who loved him as a friend, creative partner and musical force of nature. The creative community of Hartford and beyond sounds a lot less harmonious with his passing. May his joy of life, creativity and musical gifts be a comfort to all of us.

Tommy is survived by his fiancé and partner of 9 years Cindy Wieting, daughters Carrie Tripp and Lian Russo, brothers Frank Russo and his wife Andrea, Jimmy and Bob, several nieces and nephews and his longtime partner and best friend Paul Lombardo, as well as too

many friends to mention.

Tommy was born on December 28, 1952 in Hartford, CT, to Frank and Camille Russo. Growing up in the South End of Hartford, graduating from Dean Junior College. Tommy's true passion for writing music and playing guitar was nurtured and, subsequently, became an established career.

In 1971 Tommy and Paul cofounded what is known

today as L&R Productions. Tommy guided and expanded L&R and it became an award– winning audio and video production company serving all of CT and the entire Northeast. From producing TV and radio commercials to writing jingles for a wide variety of clients he earned a reputation for being the best in the business for over 40 years. In addition he collaborated on many other

projects to benefit those in need including Orphan Angels. He was author of "Unconditional Love" a book inspired by the process of adopting children. The recipient of many awards including Best of Business in 2016 by the Hartford Business Journal.

Besides his love for music, you could catch him out on the lake kayaking with one of his buddies, fishing in his canoe, taking vacations, dining out with friends and simply…just being him. Tommy counted himself a lucky

man because of the friends he made along the way, the ones who taught him and loved him. In truth we were guided by his strong spiritual side-his calm and centered self that was often the counter balance to the loud, angry voices too often heard.

At Tommy's request there will be a celebration of his life in the near future, with music, friends and love…to honor a man who was strong, dedicated, and brave. If you would like to make a charitable donation we would recommend the following: https://familyandchildrensagency.org/
