Joseph F. Murphy, 64, of Ellington, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Ulana (Kuzma) Murphy for 41 years. Born in Hartford on April 9, 1958, he was the loving son of Julia (D'Angelo) Murphy of Rocky Hill and the late Frederick Murphy. Joe was a trained electricia­n and recently retired after 38 years from Kaman Aerospace. Joe enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, car shows and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved riding his Harleys and attending bike rallies with his friends. He was a member of the Wethersfie­ld-Rocky Hill Elks and enjoyed target shooting at Capitol City Rifle & Pistol Club in Rocky Hill. He was also a former member of North East Bass Associatio­n and participat­ed in many fishing tournament­s.

In addition to his wife and mother, Joe will be forever missed by his two daughters, Joanne Harrington and husband Patrick of Manchester; Stephanie Hart and husband Jason of Matthews, NC and his two adored “little buddies,” his grandchild­ren, Kelsey and Shane Harrington. He also leaves behind his brother and best friend, James F. Murphy and wife Julie of Rocky Hill; mother-in-law, Melanie Kuzma of Rocky Hill; sister-inlaw, Natalie Kravchuk and husband Dr. Robert Kravchuk of Bloomingto­n, IN; brother-in-law, Pete Kuzma and wife Kristine of Wethersfie­ld; four nieces, Allison, Kelly, Elisa and Karlene and two nephews, Nicholas and Timothy; as well as Aunt Lina D'Angelo and Uncle Salvatore Malinguagg­io and many dear cousins and

friends. In addition to his father, Joe was predecease­d by his father-in-law, Roman Kuzma, several cherished aunts and uncles and Joseph Scalzo, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 20 at 11 a.m. in St. Josephine Bakhita Parish (St. James Church), 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Attendees are asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Marsh St., Wethersfie­ld. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 19 from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfie­ld. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation.
