DeMaio, Mary (Wilcox)

Mary Margaret (Wilcox) DeMaio, 81, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 10, 2022. The daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Paris) Wilcox, Mary was born on

November 10, 1940 in Hartford. She graduated from Bulkeley High School and worked as an Administrative Assistant in the emergency room at Hartford Hospital for many years, continuing her career at Connecticut Children's Medical Center before retiring. She loved her tag sales and shopping-especially at Home Goods. Mary was a true homebody and enjoyed reading books and watching movies. She especially looked forward to Sunday drives with her son Scott, when she would listen to her favorite music in the car and go out to lunch or shopping. She loved her boys (three sons and four grandsons) and enjoyed spending time with them and her extended family. She will be missed dearly and remembered for her love and generosity.

Mary was sadly predeceased by her eldest son, James V. DeMaio, III and is survived by her two devoted sons, Scott A. DeMaio and Mark J. DeMaio; four adored grandsons, James V. DeMaio, IV, Joseph DeMaio, Jonathan DeMaio and Jacob DeMaio and four cherished great-grandchildren, as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

Funeral services in celebration of Mary's life will be

held privately. She may be remembered with contributions to the Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Spring Road, Suite 411, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
