Gemma A. Croteau, 75, of Plainville passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Hospital of Central CT- New Britain General Campus. Gemma was born on November 26, 1946 in Lewiston, Maine, loving daughter to the late Mallory and Anita (Malenfant) Croteau. Gemma made the most of her retirement, vacationing to her time share in Cancun and to other desirable places, including Aruba, always inviting others to join her. She loved to socialize and was easy to befriend, as she had a great sense of humor and loved to have a good time. She enjoyed going bowling, playing golf, and spending evenings at the casinos with her friends. Gemma was an avid Red Sox and UCONN Huskies fan. She was involved with the Plainville Senior Center and was a friendly face in Gnazzo's, her go-to spot for lunch. Although Gemma was tough as nails, very opinionated, and had a do-itherself attitude, her loving family and friends that she leaves behind would agree she was an amazing person that will be missed dearly as they cherish the many good times they shared together.

Gemma leaves behind her cousin, Sandra Bard and her husband, Carl, along with Sandra's children, Sean Tavalozzi (Gemma's god-son) and his wife, Kimberly, and Keith Tavalozzi and his wife, Catrina, along with their son, Thomas; her cousin, Dorothee Levasseur and her partner, Larry Crane; her cousin, Michelle Kigas and her husband, Scott, along with their son, Tony; her cousin, Melissa Levasseur Bennett and her husband, Chad, along with Melissa's children, Kamryn and Hope; her best friend, Donna Larson; her special friends, Sue Varano and Ruth DePaolo; and her beloved cat, Oscar.
