Virginia Clapp, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmothe­r, Great Grandmothe­r, and a lover of animals, Virginia (Bodreau) Clapp of Coventry, CT and Inverness, FL passed away on October 15, 2022 with her children by her side. Virginia was the daughter of the late Frederick and Doris Bodreau and grew up in South Coventry, CT. She attended local schools and Windham High School before working for the Department of the United States Navy during World War II. She also worked as a bookkeeper alongside her husband for many years at their family business, New England Engine in East Hartford, CT. Virginia married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Clapp on February 22, 1947 and were married for 60 years. Together, they raised a loving family which she cherished the most. She enjoyed vacationin­g for many years at their family cottage in Vermont on Lake Champlain, and upon their retirement in 1986 moved to Inverness, FL where they resided for more than 35 years making lifelong friendship­s along the way. Virginia was predecease­d by her husband Robert, son Bradford, granddaugh­ter Carrie, brothers Louis and Richard Bodreau, and her sister Betty Breen. She is survived by her daughter, Candace and her husband Daniel Greene of Coventry CT, and her son, Richard Clapp and his wife Regina of South Windsor, CT, five grandchild­ren: Daniel Greene and his wife Laura of Coventry, CT, Alexandra Clapp and her fiancé Chandler Anderson of East Windsor, CT, Derick Clapp of South Windsor, CT, Kelly Melesko and her husband David of Manchester, CT, and Colleen Lippenholz and her husband Brian of Baltimore, MD, six great grandchild­ren: Vivienne Greene, Isabella Anderson, Mairyn Melesko, Aiden Melesko, Olivia Lippenholz, and Brady Lippenholz. She also leaves behind a very special and devoted friend Ronnie Ucci of Beverly Hills, FL. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers and friends from Always There Assisted Living and a special thanks to Terry and Jenna and the Hospice team. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be private.

Gerard “Jerry” Dorflinger, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 18. Jerry was born and raised in New York, and he moved to Connecticu­t in 1987. He graduated from Sewanhaka High School with several of his life-long friends. Jerry served 4 years in the Navy before working for AT&T for 47 years. During his early retirement, he enjoyed traveling and driving his All-American Ford Mustang. In his spare time, Jerry loved to watch football and baseball, and anyone who has ever had a conversati­on with Jerry knows his favorite teams were the Jets and the Mets.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sophie and Peter, his brother Gus, and his son Christian. He is survived by his daughters Jill and Cassie and his granddaugh­ter June. Jerry's family is eternally grateful for Kofi Nsakie, who helped Jerry live with dignity during his last few years.

Jacquelyn (O'Shea) Durinick, 90, formerly of Cromwell and Higganum, beloved wife of the late Raymond Durinick, died Tuesday October 11, 2022 at Waters Edge Health Care. She was born in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late John “Jack” and Helen (Berckman) O'Shea. She graduated from Middletown High School, attended Barbizon Modeling School and later worked at the cosmetic department at Bunce's. Jacquelyn is survived by her sons, Lawrence Durinick of Charlotte, NC, Michael Durinick and his wife Daria of Middletown; four grandchild­ren, Jenna, Tanya, Brian and Rachael; two great grandchild­ren, Lily Durinick and Edward Biafore. She was predecease­d by her son, James Durinick. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday (Oct. 26th) at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, Church, Middletown. Burial will be in the State Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown.
