Gobelle, Norman

-

Norman Gobelle, 84 of East Haddam, passed away on October 15, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Norman was born on January 20, 1938 in Wolfboro New Hampshire to the late J. Arthur and Evelyn (Wiggin) Gobelle. It was in the third grade that Norman met Ruth Webster. Their story progressed the same way a true love-story takes shape, and after graduating from Kennett High School, class of 1956, Ruth and Norman were married. They moved to East Haddam to raise their children, and the two spent the next 67 years together until Ruth's recent passing in August of 2022. Norman was a Process Engineer for Pratt & Whitney for 35 years. Norman and Ruth spent numerous years as “snow birds” in Florida, traveling extensively in their motor home and showing their 1956 Nash Metropolitan. Norman was a past Master of Granite Lodge #119, however his biggest love was for his wife and family.

Norman will be sorely missed by his children, Steven and his wife Lynn, Melissa Fox, Casandra and her husband Donald Berthiaume; his brother David and his wife MaryAnn; grandchildren Susan Gobelle, Kristy Nelson, Lisa Sikorski, Laurel Lovely, Amanda Lovely-Gordon, Breeanna Miner; great grandchildren, Hannah Simpson, Toby Simpson, Grayson Nelson, Hailee Gordon, Gage Gordon, Izabella Reed; and numerous extended family members and friends.
