Kathleen E. (Towey) Lamy, 80, of Vernon, loving wife of over 56 years of Raymond P. Lamy Jr. passed away at home, on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Kathleen was born on September 21, 1942, in Newton, Massachuse­tts one of two beloved daughters of the late Hubert P. and Eleanor A. (McConnell) Towey. She was raised in Newton, MA and enjoyed her summers at Bonnet Shores on Narraganse­tt Bay. Kathleen is a graduate of Our Lady of Help Christian High School (1960), Salve Regina University (1964) and later, Eastern Connecticu­t State University.

Along with raising her family, Kathleen taught fourth grade at Michael D. Fox Elementary School in Hartford and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She was also a member of the Friends of the Wadsworth Atheneum. Kathleen enjoyed playing bridge, her Book Club, and caring for flowers. She was a longtime Communican­t of St. Bernard Church in Rockville.

In addition to her husband Raymond, she is survived by her three children and their families, her son COL David R. Lamy, his wife Beth and their two children Ryan and Jeff; her daughter Patricia K. Grabski and her husband COL(R) Stephen and their six children Katelyn, Mara Zedick and her husband Chris, Kevin, Siobhan, Bridget, and Frank; her son Robert J. Lamy and his wife Jennifer and their daughter Caitlin. She also leaves her sister Jane Cashman, her nephew and Godson Mark and his wife Gemma, many extended family members, and several wonderful friends.

Calling hours will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottvil­le Road in Vernon on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 10 am. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be private in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to Blessed Sacrament Parish, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Vernon CT 06066.
