Lorenc, Teddy

-

Teddy Lorenc, age 84, passed peacefully at Johnson Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Born in Hartford on August 14, 1938, son of the late John Thaddeus and Jean (Tyminski) Lorenc, he was raised in Vernon and was a graduate of Rockville High School.

Early in Teddy's life he studied for the priesthood and had aspirations of becoming a Catholic priest; and although he didn't finish his seminary studies, he always kept the Catholic faith and its rituals close to his heart.

Teddy was a veteran of the Air Force, stationed in Morocco, and served honorably for his country for 4 years. He spent most of his working life as a Computer Print Operator for Aetna, and then Moore, where he retired. After retirement he went on many cruises and trips with his beloved wife Helen. He also loved his daily paper and enjoyed his local breakfast joints, Anna's and Maddie's, where he had been known as a regular.

Teddy was a very active member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford where he participated in many Polish and religious organizations within the church community, including being an usher, and a counter from Sunday Mass. He also was very involved with the Polish National Home in Hartford, holding a director position there for a period. One of his favorite times was visiting Rome and seeing Pope John Paul II.

Teddy and Helen were quite the couple, often getting incredible praise for their ability to dance effortlessly. They shared 58 loving years together. When Helen died just 4 months ago, he lost the love of his life and now we hope they dance together again in heaven.

Teddy was predeceased by his parents and in-laws, and his wife Helen. He leaves behind his son, John Lorenc and his partner Terez Fraser of So. Portland, ME; his brother, Richard Lorenc of Vernon; his sister, Irene Medeiros of Nantucket, MA; his sister, Evelyn Dudley and her husband Bruce of Sandwich, NH; his sister, Brenda Sisco and her husband Brian of Ellington; his sister-in-law, Jenny Bednarz; four nieces, Lynn Medeiros, Hildee Medeiros, Lori Finnegan and Kathryn Sisco; and three nephews, Bill Medeiros, Kevin Sisco and Cody O'Neill.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 2, 4-7 p.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford. Family and friends may gather on Thursday, November 3, 9:15 a.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 55 Charter Oak Ave., Hartford, CT 06106.

The family wishes to thank Evergreen and Johnson Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to Teddy. For online condolences please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
