Sutyla, Raymond
Raymond Sutyla, 70, of Ellington, beloved husband of 42 years to Sandra (Pappanikou) Sutyla, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Frank and Clara (Blazejovsky) Sutyla, he grew up and lived in Rockville before moving to Ellington in 1987. Raymond was a graduate of Rockville High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Central Connecticut State University, and he earned his master's degree from the University of Connecticut. Prior to his retirement, Raymond taught at Rockville High School for 32 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid reader. Raymond was a longtime member of NEATT (Nonprofit Education, Advancement, Training & Tool). In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his children, Christopher Sutyla and his wife Melissa of Willington, and Alissa Mancini and her husband Richard of Tolland; two grandchildren, Elena and Everett Mancini of Tolland; two sisters, Teresa Sullivan and her husband Martin of Springfield, MA, and Patricia Gardiner and her husband Mark of Vernon; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Sutyla of Tolland, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Sutyla. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
