Rita (Fortin) Hull Church, 97, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Charles W. Church died peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at home, surrounded by her family. Rita was born in Sanford, ME, on June 7, 1925, daughter to the late Albert and Ophelia (Gendreau) Fortin. Rita grew up in Hartford CT and was a graduate of Hartford High School. She met and married George Hull and together they settled in East Hartford, CT where they raised a family. Rita worked as an Informatio­n Systems Supervisor for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for 25 years, before her retirement in 1987. Shortly after her retirement her husband George passed away. She would later marry Charles Church. Rita found great joy in helping others and volunteeri­ng with the Manchester Hospital, Vernon VNA, SWPD Sub-Station, and Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida where she spent winter in retirement. A kind, caring and devoted mother, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r, she will be dearly missed. She leaves her son Jeff Hull and his wife Michele of South Windsor; her grandchild­ren, Jason Hull of South Windsor, Robyn Hollister and her husband Scott of Glastonbur­y, Eric Bowen and Carol Bowen; and her great grandchild­ren, Sage Hollister, and Skylar Hollister. Her family would like to thank Esther and Hanne from Always There Home Care of Manchester, CT for their wonderful care and support they gave to Rita.
