Wilson D. Flynn Jr., 80, of Ellington died peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at home, surrounded by family. Wilson was born in New Haven, CT, on October 12, 1942, son of the late Wilson D. and Mildred Fish Flynn. He was a graduate of Notre Dame-West Haven High School, Fairfield University and a proud member of the Mensa Society. His profession­al experience included over 40 years in the insurance industry as V.P. of Claims for Orion Securities and Royal Insurance. He was a resident of Cheshire for 30 years, before retiring in Ellington.

Wilson was a devote Catholic his entire life being active in each parish he belonged to. He was a strong member of St. Luke's Church in Ellington, and very active in the parish community teaching Catechism classes and running the Wreathes Across America. No matter where he went whether on vacation or business, he never missed a Sunday service and with Covid and his love of technology he was able to keep his streak going streaming online.

Wilson was predecease­d by his first wife Frances Blaise Flynn of Cheshire, and his second wife Priscilla Foss-Johansen Flynn of Ellington and leaves behind their children, Heidi Slade and her husband Kevin of Cheshire, and Tracey Schlosser of Wallingfor­d, Jeffrey Johansen and his wife Marcia of Manhattan, KS, Mark

Johansen of Ellington, Karen Kirby and her husband Tom of Woodstock, along with 10 grandchild­ren, Max, Conner, Aaron, Kirsten, Tucker, Colby, Mark II, Morgan, Matthew, Joshua and three Great Grand Children.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Dec 20, from 4-6pm at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottvil­le Road in Vernon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec 21, at 11am, at St. Luke's Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery.
