Puiia, Filippa "Phyllis"

Filippa “Phyllis” Catherine Puiia, 88, of South Windsor died peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 5, 1934, daughter to the late Joseph and Rose (Anacreonte) Berte. Phyllis grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated

from Bay Ridge High School. She had lived in Staten Island, NY, Parlin, NJ, and Jamesburg, NJ, before moving to South Windsor over 15 years ago to be near her family. She worked as an Investment Executive Secretary on Wall Street in New York, a career she loved. Phyllis was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and the South Windsor Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards, especially poker. A kind, caring, loving, and deeply devoted mother, sister, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed. She leaves her sons, Joseph V. Puiia and his wife Stacey of South Windsor, and Jerry Puiia and his wife Laurie of Glastonbury; her sister, Jeannette Morales of Wellington, FL; her grandchildren, Jessica Puiia and her fiancé, Matthew Clark of New Britain, Christopher Puiia of Woburn, MA, Brendan Puiia of South Windsor, and Caitlyn Puiia of Glastonbury, as well other family member and friends. She was predeceased by her close friend and longtime companion, Alan Greaves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 11 a.m., meeting directly at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor.
