Molinaro, Mary Ann

-

Mary Ann (Bertozzi) Molinaro, 91, of Bethel CT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 6, 2022

She was born April 21, 1931 in South Norwalk CT the daughter of the late Guido and Lucille Elizabeth Bertozzi. She was also predeceased by her husband: Silvio Molinaro, brothers: Guido Bertozzi and Dwight Bertozzi and sister: Dolores Michael.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving children: Dean Molinaro and his wife Amy of West Hartford CT, Alisa Lengel and her husband Richard of Newtown CT, Rachel Noe and her husband Robert of Hopewell Junction, NY; her grandsons: Aaron Lengel and wife Stephanie, Michael Lengel, Paul and Mark Molinaro, Samuel, Henry and Martin Noe; her great granddaughters: Madison and Hailey Lengel; her sister: Elizabeth Ottavio, numerous nieces and nephews, especially Dwight Bertozzi, David Bertozzi and Carol Kuzcko.

She graduated from Bethel High School in 1949, after which she became the first car hop waitress at the Sycamore Restaurant. It was there where she met Silvio Molinaro. Soon after starting a family, she and Siv purchased the old Larsons farm atop Hoyts Hills. Life on the hill was an adventure, filled with hay fields, barns, sheds, greenhouses and gardens. The door was always open to all, whether to visit with Uncle Siv in the basement sitting next to the wood burning stove or upstairs with Aunt Mary Ann where there was always a fresh pot of coffee, music and wonderful food.

Mary Ann led a life a full of vibrancy, energy and commitment to her family. She was an avid knitter, a great cook, a wonderful conversationalist, and always available to support her family and friends. Perhaps Ga's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren counseling them on the world and their individual journeys within it.

All who knew Mary Ann will miss her dearly and will always feel her presence. Our many fond memories will forever remain in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday December 20, 2022 from 11:00 to 12:30 at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, CT followed by a graveside service at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Route 53, Bethel, CT.
