Gordon-Sowa, Carol A.

Carol Ann Gordon-Sowa, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. Born September 29, 1944 in Winchester, MA daughter of the late William and Ethel (Bekkenhuis) Greene. Carol was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was employed 35 years with CIGNA Healthcare and held numerous positions throughout her career. She was a faithful catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield. Carol loved to travel, had a great sense of humor, but what brought her most joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was involved in organizations that were important to her and was fortunate to establish a close community of longtime friends who she loved very much, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Gordon and later married John Sowa. She is survived by her three sons, Robert Gordon of Deerfield

Beach, FL, Scott Gordon of Bloomfield, Brian Gordon and his wife, Sharon of Cheshire; two stepsons, Kevin

Sowa of Coventry and Brian Sowa and his wife, Becky of Bristol; a sister, Sharon Aucella and her husband, Thomas of Plymouth, MA; her grandchildren, Sarah, Shannon, and Ryan Gordon, William Tomasini, Madelyn and Charlotte Sowa. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield.
