Sullivan, Keata (Chapman)

-

Keata Sullivan, age 74, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. Keata was born in Caribou Maine to parents Aubrey and Manilva Fenlason (Chapman). They settled in Hartford and raised the family there. Keata graduated from Hartford Public High School and was a lifelong Hartford resident, raising her two children, Shaun and Kerri, there. After retiring from her secretarial position, Keata decided to go to school and pursue her passion, jewelry. She became a certified Gemologist and enjoyed collecting, selling and studying all aspects of the gem and jewelry industry. Keata was a woman filled with compassion and empathy, as evidenced by her love of animals, she was always in the company of pets and

never met a stray, whether animal or human, that she would not take in and care for.

Keata leaves behind her love and life partner of over 40 years, Donald “Mac” McNamara of Hartford; her two children, Shaun Sullivan and his wife Helen of Cromwell and Kerri Padegenis and her husband Paul of Titusville, Fl and her three adored grandchildren, Haley Fauteux of Titusville, Fl., Shaun Jr. and Connor Sullivan of Cromwell. Keata also leaves behind her seven siblings, Roger Fenlason and his wife Janice of South Windsor, Coleen Fenlason of Windsor Locks, David Fenlason of Tunbridge VT, Alan Fenlason of Hartford, Michael Fenlason of Hartford, Lisa Fenlason of East Hartford and Dwayne Fenlason of Pomfret VT, as well as several nieces and nephews. Keata leaves a hole in our family that will never be filled. She was a small person, but was larger than life; she will be deeply missed.

Keata did not wish for bereavement services; she wanted those who loved her to remember the good times and never forget to laugh or get up and dance if the music was right.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local animal shelter in her name, or share a story about her, she was a character who will always live on in our hearts. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield

has been entrusted with the arrangements. To share a memory of Keata with her family, please visit www.
