Imagine spending the holidays next year in the home of your dreams. You can infuse an abundance of holiday spirit, inside and outside, in an 11-room colonial, beautifully situated on a wooded and secluded three-acre parcel in Avon.

On the market is a 6,460-square-foot home which features five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a partially finished lower level. Located at 37 Lord Davis Lane, the home is accented by four wood-burning fireplaces, high-end mill work, nine-foot high and tray ceilings,

beaming hardwood and marble floors, skylights and a grand two-story foyer. The open and light-filled main living space flows easily from room to room for gracious entertaining.

“It’s such a great home,” says Caitlyn Cleary of William Pitt | Sotheby’s International Realty of Avon, who is a co-listing agent handling the sale of the home with Diane Barry. “There is a lot of natural light which streams into the home.”

Priced to sell at slightly more than $1 million, Cleary says buyers would not be able to build a home of this size with high-end finishes for this price in today’s real estate market.

The home’s brick exterior and curb appeal create an elegant approach to the property, immediately visible from all directions of the asphalt circular driveway in front of the home. Professionally landscaped beds and mature trees add to beauty of the property and keep it secluded from neighbors.

“I love when you enter the circular driveway,” Cleary says. “It is so grand.”

Walk into the welcoming, two-story foyer enhanced by a stunning crystal chandelier and a marble tile floor. A balcony overlooking the first floor makes this space

feel very majestic.

The focal point of the formal living room is the double-sided marble fireplace, also visible from the library. French doors open into the handsome library which offers great views of the backyard. One wall is adorned by floor-to-ceiling built-in shelving.

The family room, which opens to the kitchen, has oversize windows, an elevated ceiling, a raised

hearth fireplace, built-ins, skylights and a wet bar. The stunning formal dining room, highlighted by custom millwork, offers views of the garden.

A chef’s kitchen has been designed for large-scale entertaining. It features granite counters, a propane cooktop in the island, a wall oven, fantastic storage and three options for a pantry. The roomy dinette area also has a built-in desk. This space opens to the patio and provides a back staircase to four of the bedrooms upstairs.

A powder room and a laundry room with cabinets and a sink are conveniently connected to the mudroom which can be accessed from the three-car garage or a separate entrance into the home. A second powder room is also located on the main level.

Five generous bedrooms, each one with a large closet, can be found upstairs. At one end of the long and spacious hallway, use the French doors to enter the 16-by-22-foot primary suite. The room, which is bathed in natural light, is enhanced by a tray ceiling, a generous walk-in closet and a separate dressing room. While winding down for the day, cozy up next to the marble fireplace. The large en suite has a jetted tub overlooking the backyard, a separate shower and double granite sinks with a makeup counter in-between.

At the other end of the hallway, two bedrooms have en suites and two bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. One of the bedrooms, accessible from the back staircase, has a vaulted ceiling and could easily

be converted into a bonus room, a game room, a kids room, a craft room or a suite for guests, in-laws or an au pair.

“I love the hallway upstairs,” Cleary says. “It adds to the design of the home.”

The lower level delivers an additional 352 square feet currently used as a home gym. This room is heated and offers a fresh-air exchange system. More space on this level can also be finished to add square footage.

The home uses a hot air oil heating system and water heaters, and is cooled by central air conditioning with zoned systems for conserving energy. Additional green-energy efficiencies include a programmable thermostat, ridge vents and thermopane windows. The home is generator-ready and has access to a security system. It also has a central vacuum, a private well and a septic system.

Lord Davis Drive is located in the desirable east side of Avon. “All of the houses on the road are designed individually,” Cleary says. “It’s a well-established neighborhood.”

Because this property is one of only a handful of homes for sale in this area, Cleary recommends making an appointment as soon as possible for a private showing. For a virtual tour, a photo gallery and property details, visit https://37lorddavisln.com.

While winter may be a slower time for home purchases, the agent points out that buyers now have the opportunity to purchase the home they have been searching for.
