Ida (Trotta) Pedrolini, 94, of Southingto­n, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 19, 2023. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 60 years, Robert J. Pedrolini, Sr., who predecease­d her in 2012.

Ida was born on December 23,1928 in Middletown, CT daughter to the late Louis and Aurora (Ricciuti) Trotta. She was one of seven sisters. Ida was a loving and devoted mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r who always looked forward to holidays and family parties. She enjoyed summers at her family cottage in Milford and loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends.

Ida graduated from Middletown High School and went on to nursing school at New Britain General Hospital, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked in several nursing facilities before she retired from the Andrew House in New Britain as their infectious disease nurse. In her retirement years, she was an active member of the Plainville Senior Center, where she played cards, enjoyed her Italian classes, and the many bus trips she took with her friends.

Ida is survived by her children, Aurora Pedrolini, Debra and Robert Moreau, Robert J. Pedrolini, Jr. and Leslie Topor; three grandsons, Richard and Karen Moreau, Ryan and Michelle Moreau, and Robert and Susan Moreau; six beloved great-grandchild­ren, Norah, Maya, Marissa, Charles, Alice, and Ryan Moreau; two sisters, Rose Franco and Josephine Poliner; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Walston and brother-in-law, Gerald Messer; along with several nieces and nephews.

Ida's family extends their appreciati­on to the compassion­ate staff at Apple Rehab in Plainville for their exceptiona­l care given to Ida during her stay there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville with committal services to follow at Saint Thomas Cemetery, 351 Meriden Ave., Southingto­n. Family and friends are welcome to gather prior to Mass on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St., Plainville. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ida can be made to the Plainville Senior Center, 200 East St., Plainville or to the CT Nurses Foundation, 1224 Mill St., Bldg.
