Helen (Lucianno) Correia, 84, of Ellington, formerly of Manchester, CT and DeBary, FL, beloved wife of the late William Correia Sr., passed away peacefully, on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Helen was born on March 6, 1938, in Fall River, MA daughter of the late Antone Sr. and Mary Lucianno. After Mary passed, her dad married Evangeline who lovingly continued to raise Helen as her own. Bill and Helen raised their family in Manchester and moved to Florida in retirement before returning to CT in 2018.

Helen was a successful real estate broker, owning her own agency, Village Charm Realty in Talcottvil­le. In retirement, she enjoyed being a bakery decorator at Publix Supermarke­t in Florida and working as a cast member at Disney.

Helen spent her life devoted to her family. She was a talented seamstress making clothes and costumes for the kids for years. She and Bill enjoyed flying to Biloxi and Tunica, MI for trips to the casino. She also played the role of “Auntie Em” in the Gateway Center of the Arts presentati­on of The Wizard of Oz with her grandchild­ren. She was a good sport! She frequented the Ellington and Vernon Senior Centers with her son, Bill, playing dominoes but mostly enjoying visiting with others.

Helen is survived by her three children, William Correia Jr and Elizabeth of Ellington, with whom she made her home, Mary Beth Litrico and Paul of Manchester and Patricia Rivera and Jose of Poinciana, FL, her thirteen loving grandchild­ren, and ten cherished great grandchild­ren. Helen also leaves her brother Antone Lucianno Jr of Palm Coast, FL, several nieces, nephews, and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predecease­d by her son David J. Correia and her grandson Xavier Patrick Maurer.

Calling hours will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottvil­le Road in Vernon on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
