Rosen, Jaws
In the loving arms of his human parents, constant companion Jaws crossed the Rainbow Bridge peacefully on the beautiful, sunny, warm afternoon of February 20, 2023. Jaws is now on his forever adventure, filled with fields to run in, streams splash in, lakes to swim in, and plenty of Dunkin’ Donuts munchkins (though he could only have a tiny taste, chocolate was his favorite).
Born July 2005 in Tauton, MA, Jaws is survived by his loving human parents, Elise and Michael of Farmington, CT; his Jack Russell siblings, Eva and Yeti; his human grandparents, uncles, aunts, and one of his favorite humans, Gia Perry of Somerset, MA.
Jaws’ nickname was Happy (or Hap) and he loved doing everything and anything with his mom. He was a notorious tissue snatcher, an opportunistic snack grabber, and a serial attention seeker. Swimming, long car rides, unwrapping gifts, dance parties, and hiking low level terrain were some of his favorite things to do. He was a true go-getter who loved to take road trips in the convertible, often to his favorite spots such as Acadia National Park, Cape Cod, and Ocean City, Maryland (for a stroll on the Boardwalk and a few Thrasher’s fries). Jaws loved beach days, rolling in the sand, and wading in shallow calm water. Big waves were not his thing.
Jaws had a fantastic, healthy, nearly 18 year long life and left an impression on everyone who met him. Jaws and his family would like to recognize the kind, wonderful staffs at Uberdog, Veterinary Specialists of CT, and Tufts Foster Small Animal Hospital. Special thanks go to Dr. Zee who cared for Jaws since he was a puppy; Dr. Usechack whose quick thinking saved Jaws’ life (twice) by identifying and treating his heart and kidneys; Drs. Cunningham and Rush who provided Jaws wonderful cardiac care. All your efforts and support gave Jaws an extra year of adventures while maintaining an amazing quality of life. Sure he was occasionally a little mischievous (he was, after all, a Jack Russell Terrier), yet he was always happy, ready for an adventure, or to just sit back and relax with his family. Rest in peace. We will miss you Hap.
