Janice Bennett Galusza passed away on March 1, at the age of 91, in Simsbury, CT. She is survived by her 4 children: Catherine (Warren) Guthrie, Elizabeth (Steven) Lingenheld, Janice (James) Palatine, and Robert (Kate) Galusza. Janice was the grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 7. She was predeceased by her husband Myron Michael who passed away in 1987.

Born in 1931 in Hackensack, NJ, Janice was the youngest of Robert H. and Margaret T. Bennett's 3 daughters. She grew up and attended schools in Ridgewood, NJ. In 1953 she graduated from Vassar College with a degree in mathematics and soon married the handsome Michael Galusza, from Northampton, MA, who she met while working summers at the Madison Beach Hotel in Madison, CT. Over the years Janice and Michael made their home in Wycoff, NJ, Barrington, IL, Wilton, CT and Canton Center, CT. After getting her degree in Library Sciences, Janice worked as a librarian in Canton, CT for many years. She retired in 1995 and moved to Cape Cod where she was an active member of the Federated Church of Hyannis and the Public Library.

Janice was the matriarch of a very close family who spend many weeks each year at their Elm Hill Farm in Johnsonville, NY playing sports, music and generally enjoying one another's company. When Janice wasn't at the library or her Farm she enjoyed extensive travel to Asia, Europe, Africa and Mexico, but her favorite place was Hawaii.

Janice will be greatly missed by her immediate family, her sister Jill, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Anthology of Simsbury and Juliana of Heaven's Hands for taking such good care of our mom in her final days.
