Maureen Nolan LeClaire, 79, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 30, 1943, in Hartford, Connecticu­t, daughter of the late Maurice Franklin Nolan and Helene Poetzsch Jones. Maureen married Roy W. LeClaire in September 1960. Early on she worked as a secretary at Connecticu­t General. Maureen retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 plus years of service as a Postmaster Relief. She enjoyed many years as a Girl Scout leader for her daughters. Maureen's greatest achievemen­t were her five children. She was proud to have raised productive members of society. Maureen dedicated her life to her family. She made sure that everyone had whatever they needed to be successful. Maureen opened her home to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed traveling the United States with her husband Roy. Maureen dearly missed “her navigator” when he passed four years ago. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage together.

Maureen is survived by her brothers, Roy (Christine) Nolan, and Kenneth Jones, her sisters-in-law Dorothy (Joe) Eaton and Diane Wadsworth. She is survived by her five children: Michelle (Mark) Emirzian, Michael LeClaire, Cheryl McCabe (Ron), Amy (Sean) O'Toole, and Stephen (Holly) LeClaire; her grandchild­ren: Jaclyn Dombrowski (Geoff), Natasha Koscak, Kevin and Shianne LeClaire, Collin (Chelle) Keats, Kendra (Tera) Giesinger, Amanda and Nicholas O'Toole; her greatgrand­children: Stella Dombrowski, Parker Smith, Nolan and Jameson Giesinger, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maureen was predecease­d by her sister, Wilma Laclair, her brothers-in law: Harry LeClaire, Jr., John LeClaire, and Robert Wadsworth and her cousins: William Poetzsch, Robert Poetzsch, and Marion Zura.

Maureen's service is at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Church Street, Tariffvill­e, Connecticu­t at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Burial will follow the service at the Granby Cemetery, 260 North Granby Road, Granby, Connecticu­t. Then please join the family at the Barkhamste­d East Firehouse, 54 North Canton Road, Barkhamste­d, Connecticu­t. Donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
