Hoffman, June K.

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

On March 16, 2023, the world lost one remarkable woman. June (Knopf) Hoffman has joined her soulmate, Donald Hoffman and countless other beloved family members in Heaven. June was born on May 12, 1933, and was raised by George and Alma Knopf. She grew up on a farm in Berlin, CT and graduated from Berlin High School, Class of 1950, where she wrote for the Beacon, the school newspaper, and aspired to be a journalist. Little did she know, she would meet the love of her life, Don, shortly after graduating high school and her aspirations would change as she got married and started a family. With family as her top priority, June took on various local employment opportunities, including working for many years for Sears in West Hartford in their Human Resources Department. In her free time, June enjoyed attending church, fishing, camping “down the river”, gardening, completing crossword puzzles, and perhaps most memorably sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Every family member has at least one of her cherished blankets, quilts, dollhouse accessories or Christmas tree skirts she skillfully made. June spent her “silver years” in Southington, CT with close friends and family. She enjoyed singing as a member of the Traveling Prayer Group and watching her great-grandchildren grow up. She was well loved and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her for the truly remarkable woman she was. June leaves behind her children; Jerry Forrest, Paul (Linda) Hoffman and David (Roxanne) Hoffman. She will be remembered as a warm and caring grandmother to Heidi (Kristopher) Henaire, Allison (David) Forrest-Laiuppa, Ian Hoffman, Robert (Robin) Chasse, Michael (Terri) Chasse and Jason (Rayanne) Chasse. She was also a great-grandmother to Kara, Autumn, Ethan, Jillian, Joey, Johnny, Colton, Ella, Kayden and Willa. June also leaves behind her siblings, Joyce (Les) Hames, Linda (Terry) Helming and Alan (Mary) Knopf. Calling hours for June will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service to be held at 11:00 AM in the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489 and will also be streamed online. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hatton School Unified Sports Program, 50 Spring Lake Rd., Southington, CT 06489 (attn: Hatton School and write Unified Sports in the memo line) or to the Autism Services and Resources Center (ASRC), 101 N.
