Ed grew up in Hartford along with his late siblings, Mary, Hilda, Louis and Raymond. He settled back In Hartford and worked at Underwood Typewriter for several years. In 1952 he married his wife Elaine and they were married until her death in 2012. Later that year he, along with his son Raymond, started Perleoni & Son Landscaping. Ed continued to work well into his 70's. He often said “if you're going to accept a job, do it right, or don't do it at all.” Ed was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a devout Catholic throughout his entire life. Ed was a sports fan and enjoyed listening to the Yankees on the radio. Ed liked crossword and jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed a good card game.

Along with his wife and siblings, Ed was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Marotta and his son-in-law Jeff Breton. He leaves his son Raymond Perleoni and wife Kathryn; daughters Cynthia Gomes, Gloria Breton and Claudia Kennedy; nine grandchildren, Francis, Felicia, Anthony, Nicholas, Lauren, Jeremy, Michelle, Jonathan and Julia; and 12 great grandchildren.
