Enderle Jr., Joseph "Eddie" Edmund

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

Joseph joined the angels on his heavenly journey home on May 11, 2023. Born on November 23, 1937 in Newark, NJ, he lived much of his 48 years of married life in Feeding Hills, MA with his loving wife, the late Maryann Carol (Twarog) Enderle. He was a devout member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Springfield and later Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills, MA. Joseph began his career in the U.S. Air Force as part of the Strategic Air Command and met Maryann while stationed at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA. He often credited her for having saved him and loved to tell his family and friends that he thought to himself “this woman will be the mother of my children” after she took him to church. After receiving his college degree, Joseph continued his career as a Civil Servant and Technical Leader in the U.S. Government. He cherished time with his family and always encouraged people to step into the here and now. He was incredibly thoughtful, spending hours looking for a card with just the right message and always offered kind and thoughtful words to feed someone's soul when they were down. “Be gentle with yourself” was a favorite saying of his. Joseph was a loving and devoted husband to Maryann; proud father to Theresa Michele Bachhuber of New Hartford, CT, Christine Denise Enderle-Olson of Foxboro, MA, and Paul David Enderle of Wellesley, MA; dear father-in-law to Bill Bachhuber, Ken Olson and soon-to-be daughter-in-law Litsa Vavakis; cherished grandfather (“Grampy”) to Nicolas Joseph and Jillian Hannah Olson; devoted brother to Matthew Enderle of Barnegat, NJ; a special uncle to many nieces and nephews; and beloved friend to many. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on May 18 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1103 Springfield St. Feeding Hills, MA. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Main St., Agawam, MA. Visiting hours will precede the mass from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main St., Agawam, MA. Memorial donations may be sent to Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center, 303 Tunxis Road, West Hartford, CT 06107. To leave an online condolence visit www.forastiere.com.
