Marjorie Hamilton Guess, 71, of Windsor, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Marjorie was born and raised in New Haven, daughter of the late Russell and Lucinda (Brown) Hamilton, and graduated from James Hillhouse High School, Class of 1970. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of New Haven and started a successful career with Travelers Insurance Company. In April of 1975, Marjorie married Vincent Guess and they started their life together in Baltimore, MD, where she embarked on the journey she was most proud of, that of being a wife and mother. They welcomed their first born, Gabriel in 1976, and two years later, a daughter, Olivia joined them. They moved back to Connecticut in the fall of 1981, and their third child, Athena was born in 1983. After 24 years of marriage, she and Vincent parted ways and she began the next chapter in her life. Marjorie met and fell in love with her partner of 24 years, Barry Weinberg, and they started a new life together. She followed her passion and went back to school to be a licensed aesthetician and created her own business while also working at St. Francis Hospital. After she left the hospital, she was hired as an ambassador for Amazon, where she worked until her passing. Her strong work ethic and dedication to her job inspired her children to follow their dreams and be the best they could be every day.

Marjorie was a loving partner and an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. She will fondly be remembered as a kind and nurturing woman, who loved her family more than anything. Marjorie had a wonderful outgoing personality and was always a lot of fun to be with. She had a great sense of humor and was always full of jokes and sarcasm.

Marjorie was a talented seamstress, and when her children were young, she would make their clothing, as well as her own. She honored the beautiful artistic side of her spirit and created lovely works of handmade glass beaded jewelry. Marjorie was also an amazing cook and particularly enjoyed shopping, attending flea markets, traveling, sight-seeing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Marjorie leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. In addition to her partner, Barry, Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Gabriel Guess, Olivia Guess, and Athena Guess, all of Bloomfield; her grandchildren, Sade Guess, Meena Lee Texidor, Israel Lounds, Xavier Bolton, and Madeline Regini; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Russell G. Hamilton, Jr., Barbara Black, and Randall Hamilton.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 11:30 a.m-12 p.m., with a Celebration of Life, 12 p.m., at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private.

Marjorie's favorite color was purple. To honor her life, please wear purple to celebrate her beautiful spirit. To leave a condolence for her family, please visit www. carmonfuneralhome.com
