Paul S. Krantz, Jr., 82, of Glastonbur­y, loving husband of 47 years of Carol (Toce) Krantz, peacefully sailed to eternal life on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 with his beloved family by his side. Born in Worcester, MA on March 31, 1941, a son of the late Paul S. and Cecelia (Gemme) Krantz, Sr., he had been a resident of Glastonbur­y for the past 48 years. An intelligen­t young man, Paul was a graduate of Worcester Academy and Worcester Polytechni­c Institute where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineerin­g. While at WPI, Paul was a proud member of the Army ROTC. Upon graduation, he served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era earning the rank of Lieutenant. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Paul went to work at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford where he retired after working diligently for 42 years. A devout catholic, Paul was a communican­t of St. Dunstan’s Church in Glastonbur­y. Paul was a passionate sailor his entire life. In his youth, he captained a 41 foot ketch, the “Rosa II”, out of City Island, NY. His retirement years were spent at the helm of his custom sloop “Yvaledon” sailing the Eastern Seaboard in the most extreme conditions available. He loved to share his knowledge of boats and the sea. To that end, he authored a catalogue of his adventures titled “Riding the Wild Ocean”. A how to manual for the serious sailor. Paul enjoyed working outside maintainin­g his yard and building model boats. He was also a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Most of all, Paul was a proud family man who cherished his time spent with his family.

Along with his beloved first mate/wife Carol, Paul is survived by his four children, Donna Parker and her husband Kevin of Glastonbur­y and Essex, Edward Morabito and his wife Karen of Scottsdale, AZ, Retired General Valerie Seery and her husband Timothy of Colchester, and Yvette Krantz and her fiancé Jeffrey McGovern of Laguna Hills, CA. He also leaves four special grandchild­ren, Paul J. Lamb and his wife Lisa of Manchester, Cassandra E. Lamb and her significan­t other David Romine of Norwich, Mara Newkirk and her husband Rick of Germantown, NY, Victoria Lugli and her fiancée Ashley Hicks of Brooklyn, NY; four adored great-grandchild­ren, Alexia Bragdon of Norwich, Nora Michaud and Isabell Michaud both of Germantown, NY, Lucas Lamb of Manchester; a brother, Laurence Krantz and his wife Jane of London, England; two brothers-inlaw, Daniel Toce of Hartford, Richard Toce and his wife Patricia of Celebratio­n, FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Besides his parents, Paul was predecease­d by his former wife, Lynne (Gilbert) Krantz of Rocky Hill; a brother, Robert Krantz of Taunton, MA; two brothers-in-law, Anthony Toce of Bloomfield and Dominic Toce of Hartford.

Honoring Paul’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and a memorial mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons in Paul’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or please give a gift to a homeless person you see on the street.
