Aziz, Emhart G.

-

Emhart George Aziz, 87, beloved husband to June (George) Aziz, of Wethersfield, entered into God’s care on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Emhart was born in Yonkers, New York and was son to the late George and Evelyn (Baba) Aziz. Emhart proudly served in the U.S. Army, attending training camp in Fort Knox, Tennessee and then serving for 10 years with the CT State National Guard. He had been employed for many years in the Union as a Paper Hanger and Painter, where he excelled in his trade. He was gifted hanging luxury materials and was often requested for special corporate offices. He was also one of a few that could inlay gold leaf, and his work is noted around the state offices. For him, it was more of an art than a job. Aside from the military work, he lived his life in full dedication to the Episcopal church. He prided himself on being the first man to be made a member of the Alter Guild at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, CT. He spent hours making certain the silver was cleaned weekly. He took pride in serving as a valet to the bishops that officiated at the Cathedral, and he served as an Usher both at the Cathedral as well as St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford.

His life’s enjoyment came from his ability to brag about his children and grandchildren. He had a love for sports. He was an avid golfer, having enjoyed membership at the Wethersfield Country Club. One of his finest moments was when he and his partner won the annual Dave Campbell Men’s Championship. He was a dedicated New York Yankee’s fan, a tried-and-true New York Giant’s fan, and he could not say enough about the UCONN Women’s Basketball team, being a 16-year season ticket holder. No one could cheer louder than him.

He will be remembered for his wonderful laugh, his ability to accept, welcome and love everyone and his integrity to the values of being a truly good Christian. There were no boundaries to his acceptance for all and he believed and lived a life where everyone should be treated with kindness. If he could, he would give you the shirt off his back. Riches did not matter to him; it was reaching to others that defined you. He was truly someone to aspire to be like.

Emhart is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife June and his daughters; Deborah Chmielorz and her husband, Robyn Chmielorz, of Wethersfield and Nancy Scheetz and her husband, Michael Scheetz, of Canton. He also had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren; Lindsey and Derek Chmielorz, Amanda Trahan and her husband Scott, Erika Sege and her husband Vincent, as well as his six great grandchildren; Raegan, Brody and Crew Trahan, Noah, Brooks and Jack Sege.

Emhart was also predeceased by his two brothers, Albert and David Aziz.

Funeral Service celebrating Emahrt’s life will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington Ave., West Hartford.
