Mary Ann (Sacco) Burke, 83, of Simsbury, CT, and previously of Little River, SC, died on January 24, 2024, at Anthology Senior Living Center surrounded by her family. Mary Ann was born on October 16, 1940, in Red Bank, NJ, to Vincent T. and Anna Costello Sacco. She graduated Red Bank Catholic High School where she was recognized for her infectious enthusiasm, warm smile and talents as a majorette.

Mary Ann married Gerald Burke in Hawaii in July, 1962, following a fateful job interview where Gerald met 'the most beautiful woman he ever saw.' They had four children. During Gerald's career as a Bank Executive the family lived in several states before settling in Simsbury, CT in 1977. An impeccably coiffed, classy lady in every way, she made sure to 'put on her face' even in retirement. Loved by everyone who ever knew her, Mary Ann's warmth was unmistakable in her Italian cooking, baking, hosting large family gatherings and sewing. After raising her children, she became a valued office manager for several medical practices, eventually retiring from GI and Internal Medical Associates of Hartford and moving to the Carolinas. Mary Ann and Gerald were blessed with five cherished grandsons who all adored their "Mom Mom," her cooking and unabashed, loving nature.

Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband in 2019. She is survived by their children: Gina (David) Lammey of Simsbury, CT, Gerard Burke of California, Judy (Ralph) Lagana of West Hartford, CT and Robert (Christina) Burke of Leland, NC, as well as her five grandsons, Nicholas, Zachary, Luke, Jacob & Landon.

The second of five of Vincent Sacco's children, she is survived by Margaret Genovese of Brick, NJ, Stanley (Lynne) Sacco, of Little River, SC, Nance Liming of Little River, SC, and Patricia "Penny" (Wacel) Harvick, of Yuma, AZ. She is also survived by her cherished aunt, Marie Murphy of Ocean, NJ, who, being raised together, was more like a sister.

Mary Ann was also predeceased by her parents and several cherished Italian aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and paisanos.

The family wishes to thank the loving staff and caregivers at Anthology of Simsbury for easing Mary Ann's reunion with her beloved husband of 56 years.
