Raymond Alexander Kinch, 94, of Canton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was the beloved husband for 71 years of the late Myrtis Geraldine (Brown) Kinch. Born in Delhi, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond Alexander and Mary Louise (Bell) Kinch. Raymond grew up in Delhi and attended Delaware Academy. After high school, he worked with his father in the Delaware County Highway department. Raymond then enlisted in the US Navy and honorably served during the early 1950's. He was especially proud to serve his country and continued his patriotism as a charter member of the USS Albany Associatio­n. Following his discharge Ray and Gerry settled in Oceanside, NY where they raised their two daughters. Ray spent his career as a machinist manufactur­ing parts for military aircraft working first at Northfield Precision, and then opening his own business Exproto Design. Following his retirement, he moved to Canton, CT. He and his wife enjoyed camping, square dancing, travel, and spending time with their family during special holidays. Raymond was an active member of North Canton United Methodist Church and participat­ed in weekly activities at the Canton Senior Center. Raymond is survived by his daughter Cynthia D. Donaldson and her husband Dean of Canton; three grandchild­ren: Kyle Donaldson and his wife Meghan; Mark Donaldson and his partner Leah Rothgaber; and Robin Ganter and her husband Brian; four great grandchild­ren: Grant Donaldson, Claire Donaldson, Elijah Ganter, and Cooper Ganter; and his brother, Lynwood Kinch of Delhi, NY. He is also survived by a daughter Debbie and her family. In addition to his parents and wife, Raymond is predecease­d by his siblings: Billie Sturdevant, Sawyer Kinch, Howard Kinch, and Barbara Mathieson. His family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM at the North Canton Community United Methodist Church, 3 Case Street, North Canton at the intersecti­on of Route 179 and Cherry Brook Rd. In recognitio­n of Raymond's service to our country, military honors will be rendered immediatel­y following the service. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private at Woodland Cemetery in Delhi, NY.
