-

Paul Thomas Hansen, born Bay Ridge (Brooklyn) New York, May 4th, 1959, to Alf and Edna Hansen, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday February 29th, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Ellen J. Hansen, by his children Alex (Kristen) Hansen and Amy (John) Stavola and his brothers Stephen (Katherine) Hansen and Robert (Donna) Hansen. Paul is also survived by his grandchildren Alexander “Xander” W. Hansen Jr., Jonathan M. Stavola, and Gabriella G. Stavola. He is predeceased by his daughter Mary Beth Hansen.

Paul moved from Brooklyn to Springfield, MA in his youth, eventually attending Cathedral High School and then New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University) where he met his wife Ellen and many lifelong friends. He and Ellen eventually settled in Windsor, CT where they raised their children and more recently moved just one town over to Bloomfield.

Paul loved people, he liked to entertain, travel, golf, and coach; anywhere he went he was almost guaranteed to meet someone he knew. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. He was the rare type of person who reveled not only in the successes of his own family and friends but almost anyone he came in to contact with, he genuinely loved to see people do well. His family and friends will carry forward countless cherished memories, from traveling the eastern seaboard for sports, to raucous holiday caroling sessions, and “recreatin’” anywhere there was sunshine.

Arrangements: There will be a celebration of life at Dudleytown Brewing Company (1001 Day Hill Road in Windsor) on Friday, March 8th at 1pm the family requests attendees wear bright colors as Paul would want it to feel like a true celebration.
