Carlson, John R

On March 6, 2024, John R Carlson (58) passed away after a 6-month battle with cancer. John was born to Richard Carlson and his wife of 59+ years Jane (Carpenter) and grew up with his older sister Kim (Fadoir) in the Torrington, CT area. His dad Richard was a man John idolized and was the motivator of John's drive for success, and his mom Jane was the rock providing a lifetime of unconditional love and support.

After finishing High School, John left for the warmth of the south and choose to attend college in Florida. He studied first at St. Pete College, then completed his degree and graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Soon after graduation, John found his way into the financial field as an Independent Representative for securities and insurance. After a successful 8 years, John was able to purchase the small firm where he was working, and partnering with two of his close friends, JW Cole has become a successful national Independent Broker/Dealer.

During the 26 years of John's career, he married Julie (Duvall), and they created the four joys of their lives: Daughter Jordan (26), and sons John Jr (24), and twin boys Jaden & Jared (both 19). John's interests included Golf, Fitness, Baseball, and watching almost any activity/sport his children were playing. Those who really knew him were amazed he could actually ride a unicycle, and were in awe of his skills in the “indoor sports” including Pool, Darts and Ping Pong.

John is survived by his mother Jane, all four of his children, their mother Julie, and John's sister Kim, along with her two boys, John's nephews, Joseph John (JJ), and John Paul (JP).
