-

Thomas Corwin Cox, 60, of Manchester, died unexpectedly at home on March 25, 2024. A native of Willard, Ohio, he was born on October 9, 1963, the son of Granville and Evelyn (Buzzard) Cox. He was a 1983 graduate of Willard High School and then continued his education at Oakland (Michigan) Community College and Eastern Connecticut State

Before his retirement in April 2022, he was VicePresident of Service and Delivery for Peraton, Inc. of Herndon, Virginia. Tom was active in the Free & Accepted Masons, as well as a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. He had served as Worshipful Master of Pontiac 21 Lodge of Pontiac, Michigan. He was a Friend of the Unitarian Universalist Society East in Manchester.

In retirement, Tom enjoyed traveling with his wife Margie, biking, hiking and backpacking (Trail Name: Gadget). He loved playing guitar and was working to master the violin/fiddle. He dabbled in gardening and cooking, especially smoking and grilling meat.

There was always a smile on Tom's face and a twinkle in his eye. We will fondly remember Tom for his droll sense of humor and practical jokes. He was a favorite of his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Tom is survived by his wife Marjorie (Forster) of Manchester, whom he married on March 7, 1987, their children, Timothy (Kellie Jones) of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Benjamin of West Hartford and Allison (Quinn Burton) of Brighton, Massachusetts, and grandchildren Delilah and Annabelle Cox. Also surviving Tom are brothers Roger (Brenda) of Akron, and James of Willard and his sister Peggy (Matt) Cox-Qualls of Newbury, all of Ohio, as well as thirteen Forster-in-laws, 24 Cox/ Forster nieces and nephews, and cousins too numerous to list. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Tom's life will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11 am at the Unitarian Universalist Society East in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Unitarian Universalist Society East, 153 W. Vernon St, Manchester, CT 06042.
