Virginia (Casale) Pizzoferra­to, left this world peacefully on March 28, 2024, just 3 weeks shy of her 94th birthday. Virginia was the wife of the late Anthony Pizzoferra­to with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Born and raised in Hartford, Virginia was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1947, where she was quite proud of her Phi Beta Kappa status. After raising their family, she and ‘Tony’ moved to Wethersfie­ld, where they lived happily for 37 years. For many years, Virginia loved being a secretary in several of the Hartford Public Schools. Virginia will be greatly missed by her loving children and their families: son, Peter Pizzoferra­to and his wife, Cheryl, daughter, Joan Kane and her husband John and son, Philip Pizzoferra­to and his wife Diana. She is also survived by three grandsons; Christophe­r Kane and wife, Lindsay, Timothy Kane and wife, Rufina, and Peter Pizzoferra­to and wife, Shelley and six great grandchild­ren; Landen and Chase Kane, Grady and Stella Kane and Owen and Cooper Pizzoferra­to. She also leaves her special sister-in-law, Myra Pizzoferra­to, as well as, four nephews and two nieces. Virginia was also predecease­d by her parents, Joseph Casale and Letizia (Seccarecci­a) Casale Simone, step father, Anthony Simone and her son, Anthony Pizzoferra­to.

The family would like to extend their immense gratitude to the staff of The Residence at South Windsor Farms for their kind and compassion­ate care in Virginia’s final years.

Funeral services were held privately. D’Esopo Funeral Chapel in Wethersfie­ld was entrusted with the care of the arrangemen­ts. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to: Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, 200 Executive Blvd. S. 4B, Southingto­n, CT 06489
