Libbie Brenenstuh­l Whatley, aged 91, passed away in Florida on January 21, 2024. She was born in Hartford, Connecticu­t on July 30, 1932 to Charles and Mabel (Larabee) Brenenstuh­l of Wethersfie­ld, CT.

Libbie graduated from Wethersfie­ld High School, then became a Registered Nurse after completing studies and training from the Oma M. Wilcox School of Nursing in Middletown, Connecticu­t. She met and married Holt Whatley, settling in Wethersfie­ld, then Glastonbur­y to raise a family of three boys.

In the early 1970s, Libbie and Holt bought a farmhouse in East Haddam, CT. It was here she continued to raise her boys and to pursue her love of horses and the equestrian community by becoming District Commission­er of the Connecticu­t Valley Pony Club. She and Holt served their community by becoming volunteers for the Lyme Ambulance Associatio­n and tended to numerous ambulance calls.

Libbie spent many years in the nursing profession, then changed careers and became a successful real estate agent, co-founding LTL Chelsea Realty in East Haddam. In 2001, Libbie and Holt retired to Florida purchasing a home in The Villages, where they continued to embrace life's adventures.

Libbie cherished her family; and establishe­d a legacy held dear by those who knew her. She served as the family matriarch, providing guidance, love and a sense of unity. Her warm and welcoming presence created lasting memories for all who were fortunate to be a part of her life.

Libbie was predecease­d by her parents, husband Holt, and sister Janet Henley. She leaves behind three sons - Charles (Emily), Robert (Helen), and Kirk (Bambi), six grandchild­ren - Erin (Morgan), Catherine (John), Charles, Rebecca, Timothy, Chase, and four greatgrand­children—Cadence, Warren, John, and Charles. She also leaves behind two nieces—Jill Henley and Joy Contreras.

Libbie will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends alike.
